YOUR IMPACT

Athletics

Sports and physical activity are vital to our future leaders, whether through competitions or personal challenges like running up Fort Henry Hill. Athletics at the Colleges provide Cadets with their first exposure to fitness facilities and expertise, promoting physical fitness, mental toughness, teamwork, and resiliency—skills that help them become “fit to lead” once commissioned.

Women’s Rugby New York Rugby 7’s Tournament

The RMC Women’s Rugby team travelled down to New York for the New York Rugby 7s tournament. At the tournament, we represented RMC well with our matching RMC merchandise. The generous donation to buy Team Apparel allowed us to purchase Paladins branded quarter zips, track pants, a long and short sleeve shirt and a black puff-jacket. This made us feel professional, brought us closer as a team, and made us proud to represent the Royal Military College. I can say with certainty that we were definitely the best dressed out there!

For some of the ladies, it was their second time going to New York for this tournament, but for most of the team it was the first time playing at a large-scale event. Your substantial donation allowed us to register two teams, competing in the social and collegiate brackets, playing teams from all over Canada and the US. It is an opportunity like no other for us, especially as a developing team. Not only from playing in our matches, making friends and connections, but being able to spectate other games and other teams from around the continent. The experience gained from this opportunity invaluable, and the intensity the ladies played at was a privilege to witness.

This experience would not have come to fruition had it not been for your extremely generous contributions to our program. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you so much for your dedication and support for this team. We hope that these experiences will act as the foundation for future years and future players, where they’ll build upon the experience and reputation we cultivate at these events to drive forward into a successful future, so we are grateful to have you as a part of this journey.

Thank you again for your continued support,

Sarah Giczi, RMC Women’s Rugby Team Manager

Chris Slack, RMC Women’s Rugby Team Coach

Ashley Harris, RMC Women’s Rugby Team Assistant Coach
