The Fort Frederick Guard is a reenactment team that demonstrates the infantry tactics of the Royal Military College during the late 19th century, around the time of the original Old 18. The team is supported by the Class of 1999.
The team uses originial Martini-Henry Mk1 rifles firing blanks in addition to a Naval Field Gun(s). There are 40 rifles stored at RMC currently, in working order. The demonstration is performed on the sunset parade, before graduation parade on 16 May 2024.
Due to COVID, the team was not restarted for the 2021 year and still remains inactive. The teams aim is to bring back this tradition to the college in order to display the heritage and history of RMC and Canada as well as put on a fantastic display for the sunset parade.
