Kilimanjaro. The tallest point, Uhuru Peak, sitting at\u00a05,895m (19,341ft), was reached by the team at\u00a0around 6:45am (GMT+3) on 27\u00a0December 2019. After 5 days of hiking and acclimatizing on the route of \u201cLemosho,\u201d\u00a0the final push began at midnight of the day prior.<\/p>\n<p>While the team rested at 4,600m\u00a0before heading out, the gruelling last ascend of 1,300m to the top in just a few hours\u00a0humbled all members. Nevertheless, the team soldiered\u00a0through the lack of\u00a0oxygen and sleep deprivation through one of the toughest challenges any of the members\u00a0had endured in their life. Members faced inevitable hugs and tears after having accomplished the feat that many mountaineers dream of but few get to do.<\/p>\n<p>No members\u00a0had previously been to Africa but everyone left awe-inspired with the splendour\u00a0of its landscapes, the profound hospitality of its people, and the inevitable\u00a0wish to relive an amazing one-of-a-lifetime experience such as\u00a0this.<\/p>\n<p>Before returning\u00a0down, the team took a team photo branding the RMC flag belonging to the Class\u00a0of 1969, whom members of this incredible expedition are\u00a0indebted to for their incredible\u00a0support. Moreover, the team would like to also extend their gratitude to other Classes,\u00a0ex-cadets, parents, family, friends, and peers who\u00a0graciously donated and kept us in\u00a0their thoughts because they believed in us.<\/p>\n<p>Respectfully,<\/p>\n<p>David L.
